endless dream
endless dream is an Argentinian producer whose interest in making music became bigger as he discovered vapor music. "My main goal with this project is to encapsulate all my surreal and dreamlike experiences and put it into music."
Pool Plants: What is your personal history with Argentinian music? Who are your favorite Argentinian musicians or bands? What kind of non-Argentinian music did you listen to growing up?
endless dream: Well, I had quite a hard relationship with Argentinian music, as I wouldn't find myself interested in it at all when I was younger. But as I grew up, I started to appreciate it a lot more. If I had to name my favorite Argentinian artists, I'd like to focus more on albums rather than artists. Here's a little list of my favorite ones.
Emma Shaka - Elegía
Soda Stereo - Dynamo
Bauer - Astronauta Olvidado
Arco Iris - Agitor Lucens V
P: How were you first introduced to vaporwave music and how did you get your start in the vaporwave scene? How did you come up with your artist name? What do you like in the current vaporwave scene?
E: When I was a kid, I remember Vaporwave being a pretty big thing during mid-2010s. The aesthetic was all over the internet but I was too young to understand it at the time. It was not until 2024 when I first listened to a Vaporwave album, and started digging in the rabbit hole, becoming more and more fascinated with the genre the more I listened.
My artist name first came to my mind after a night when I had a beautiful dream that I wish would've been endless.
I like how the current Vapor scene relies more on the internet and the aesthetics it spawned during this decade. Artists like Mousetrapping play with this, while other artists encompass the Hypnagogic side of Vapor.
P: When making vaporwave, how much do you draw on Argentinian music and influences? Have you made albums that are about Argentina in any particular way? Do you think there is anything unique about Vaporwave from Argentina?
E: I never really drew that much inspiration from Argentinian music when making Vaporwave, but my last album "Vapores del recuerdo/Sueños destrozados" samples Argentinian songs only so I guess that would make it.
I don't think there's something particularly unique about Vaporwave in Argentina, as the genre is pretty uniform worldwide. It doesn't change too much regardless of the country.
P: Have you worked with other Argentinian musicians or artists, either locally or nationally? How about people in other countries in South or Central America?
E: I've never got the opportunity to work with other Vaporwave artists yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
P: Do you think you are able to connect easily with the American or European vaporwave scenes despite the geographical distance?
E: Of course! Geographical distance is totally irrelevant.
P: What is one thing you would like to see happen with vaporwave in Argentina or vaporwave in general? How do you think the vaporwave scene in Argentina could grow?
E: I don't think there's anything specific I would like to see in the current Vapor scene, as the only thing I wanted, for it to revive, is already happening from my perspective. Same goes to the current Argentinian Vapor scene, it's already growing and that's the only thing I could wish for.
